mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20091113lta.wma
mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20091113lt.wma

（Andrea
We still have some more amazing things to learn.
Here is your Find It Question: how many muscles are in a human face?

Information Desk ( Christina

Conversation A（在对话中，Emma、Pam、Amy、Jack、Tom、Jason等都会经常出现）
Pam: Hey, Emma. Listen to this. The human body is amazing. We know a lot about the human body. But there is still so much more to learn. People are still studing and learning about the human body. Here are some fun facts about our amazing body:
There are about 10 trillion cells in an adult body.
A red blood cell can go around the body in about 20 seconds.
The smallest bone and muscle are in the ear.

Conversation B
Emma: Interesting. Where did you get that book?
Pam: I borrowed it from Amy.
Emma: I see. Did you know there are sixty muscles in a human face?
Pam: I didn’t know that.
Emma: It is easier to smile than to frown(皱眉).
Pam: How did you know that?
Emma: I read it somewhere.
Pam: Why is it easier to smile than to frown?
Emma: You use twenty muscles when you smile. But you use forty muscles when you frown.
There are 60 muscles in a human face.
Conversation C
Pam: So that’s why I smile so much.
Emma: Right. It’s too much work to frown. Ouch!
Pam: Are you OK?
Emma: Yes, I just hit my elbow. I’ll just rest it for a bit.
Pam: Emma, why are you laughing?
Emma: I’m laughing because I hit my funny bone. That is funny.

Information Desk
borrow something from someone
I’ll just rest it for a bit.其实后面的a bit 讲完整是a bit of time的意思。

Calendar Phrase
I don’t eat healthy food.
It’s easier to . . . than to . . .
It’s easier to take the bus than to walk.

mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20091112lta.wma
mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20091112lt.wma

（Andrea
Our lesson is called Your Body. Today we are going to learn how to take care of your body. So your body is healthy and strong. So stay with us. Here is your Find It Question: what should Pam eat?

Information Desk ( Christina

Conversation A（在对话中，Emma、Pam、Amy、Jack、Tom、Jason等都会经常出现）
Emma: Hello, Pam. I need a cookbook.
Pam: Sure, Emma. Do you have one in mind?
Emma: No, I just want some new ideas for my dinner party.
Pam: OK. Here you go.
Emma: Thanks, Pam.
Pam: You’re welcome. When is your party?
Emma: Tomorrow. Would you like to come?
Pam: Maybe. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
Emma: Why? What’s the matter?
Pam: I had a stomachache earlier. I think I ate too much.

Conversation B
Emma: Really? Or maybe you’re not eating healthy foods. What have you been eating?
Pam: I have been eating a lot of meat.
Emma: Do you eat fruits and vegetables too?
Pam: A little. I’m probably not eating enough.
Emma: Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is important for our bodies.
Pam: Yes, I know. We need a lot of fruits and vegetables so our bodies can stay healthy.
Emma: That’s right.
Hey, you know what? The kind of meat that we eat should be muscles in animals.

Conversation C
Pam: I should eat a healthy diet.
Emma: Eating right does help my body feel better. Are you also drinking enough water?
Pam: I don’t know. Maybe I need to drink more.
Emma: Our body needs water. About 70% of our body is water.
Pam: Our bodies are so amazing.
Emma: Yes. We all need to treat our bodies better.
Pam should eat a healthy diet.

Information Desk
have something in mind想到某件事（考虑到某件事）
I’d like to。。。要比I want to 。。。
diet 饮食；日常食物 on a diet 节食

Calendar Phrase
Take care of yourself.
We need a lot of . . . so . . .
We need a lot of food so our bodies can have energy.

（Andrea
The title of our lesson today is Different Bodies. We are going to learn how to talk your body in English. So get ready, we have a lot to learn together.
Here’s today’s Find It Question: what do Amy and her sister both have?

Information Desk ( Christina
5、 long 形容词adj.长的

Conversation A（在对话中，Emma、Pam、Amy、Jack、Tom、Jason等都会经常出现）
Tom: What are you doing, Amy?
Amy: I’m sketching.
Tom: What are you sketching?
Amy: I’m sketching a human body.
Tom: Why are you sketching that?
Amy: I’m learning about different body types. Then I can make clothes for people of different sizes and shapes.
Tom: You can make clothes? That’s cool.
Amy: Well, I’m learning.
在今天Tom的讲解中，Tom说到speaking of animals，这里的”speaking of …”

Conversation B
Tom: Are you sketching someone?
Amy: Yes, I’m sketching my sister.
Tom: She is tall.
Amy: Yes. My sister and I have different body types. She is tall with wide shoulders.
Tom: Oh, really?
Amy: But we both have our mom’s mouth and nose.
Tom: My brother and I look different from each other.
Amy and her sister both have their mom’s mouth and nose.

Conversation C
Amy: Really? What does he look like?
Tom: Well, his hair and eyes are brown.
Amy: You have green eyes and blond hair.
Tom: Right. My brother has long arms and legs.
Amy: Wow. He must be tall.
Tom: He is. He also has a big nose.
Amy: Tom, can I meet your brother? He sounds cute.

Information Desk

Word Power
This week, we’re learning about the parts of the body. Can you say all your body parts in English?
You turn your neck to move your head. Do you have a long neck or a short neck? neck.脖子
You have two arms, you can use your arms to carry things or to hug people. arm.
Your chest is below your head and neck. Your heart is inside your chest. chest.胸部
Your waist is under your chest. Many people want to have a small waist. waist.腰部
Your legs have two parts. The upper part is the bigger part. It is called the thigh. thigh.大腿
Your knee is under your thigh. Your legs bend at your knees. You use your knees when you walk or run. knee.
Your ankles are between your legs and your feet. They help you move your feet. ankle.
Remember all these words whenever you talk your body, then you have word power.

Calendar Phrase
What does he look like?
