We continue our lesson talking about lost and found. Yesterday Pam lost a very special book. We’ll see what happen in today’s lesson. Now here is your Find It Question: who found a book?

Information Desk
1、 give up on something 短语.放弃(某事物);对。。。表示绝望

Pam: Jack, we’ve looked everywhere for the book. It’s gone.
Jack: Pam, don’t give up on your book. Let’s look at the newspaper again. Maybe someone put a notice in there that you missed.
Pam: I already looked in the newspaper, but you can look too.
Jack: Here’s something. It’s about a missing book, but it doesn’t say what book it is.
Pam: Read it. Maybe we can call and ask the name of the book.

Jack: Did you lose a book? An old book was found around the tables at the mall last week. The book is a hardback with a red and gold cover. There are pictures inside the book. If the book is yours, please call Shelly for more information. 555-9342
Pam:

Pam: That sounds like my book.
Jack: Are you sure?
Pam: Yes. The notice described my book exactly.

有时,也把newspaper只说成paper.

今天问题的答案是, The nice blue shirt is not too short.

collar和color发音相似,但不可搞混。
对话中的let me look,此处的look不只是”看”,还有”检查”或”找一下”的意思。
对话中Amy听到对方的感谢表达没关系时,说Not a problem,它于No problem意思相同,但又太不正式了,比较正式的、有礼貌的回答是You’re welcome.或It’s my pleasure.

今天的Super Sentence Man中,讲了…has…and…的用法,主要用来describe things,例如: He has a coat and a hat.
